Who am I? This was a question I had to think over when I began to do this project. I knew I didn't want to make a picture of my face like everyone else was doing, I wanted to be different, unique, to find an object that could describe the me people need to get to know to understand. So I chose a clam. The clam looks ordinary at first glance, but it contains a one of a kind pearl, and the swirls around it is how I show it (this shows my own creative and individual way I do things). At first I was really excited to do this because it looked really good on the rough draft, but then when I began to plot the points it was really difficult. It was especially hard when I was doing benchmark #3, where I found out what it looked like and had to go on from there. At the end of benchmark #3, all the work began to get to me, and I began thinking, 'nobody's perfect, and I know I'm not, so why should my picture be?' This was when I let myself go and began just to have fun with it. I know it wasn't what I wanted at first, and it could have been better, but I like my picture. This also represents me mathematically because I really get into math and at times over complicate simple problems, and I think the same thing happened here. I bit off more than I could chew, and I had a hard time at the end. What I've learned from this project is that I should start out small and then build up instead of trying to do everything at once.
I used~
Habits of Heart by using my unlimited potential because I came up with this super elaborate and super complicated picture because I was determined to be different and motivated to continue working on the project no matter how difficult it got.
Habits of Mind by using connections because I explained my reasons of picking a clam and what I did.
