Medieval Renaissance 2013
Reflection
1.) Out of our entire Exhibition, what are you most proud of?
The thing I was most proud of out of the whole exhibition would be how well we worked together to make it a success. We all checked in with one another, reminding each other if our scene was coming up, and transitioning between classes easily. I didn't see a single area that wasn't being occupied with students teaching the members of the community about the work or project that we did. Hence, the reason why this is the thing I am most proud of from our entire Exhibition.
2.) If we had more time, what would you change/ make better?
If I had to time to change/ make something better, it would be for the Shakespeare scene and the concept board. For the Shakespeare scene, I would want to rehearse that a bit more with my partner, and help her to keep calm during the performance so she wouldn't speed up when she got nervous. As well as memorize the lines to our scene, it felt a bit unprofessional to have our script in our hands while performing. For the concept board, I would want to try and create a model for our idea to better illustrate our idea, as well as try and figure out a set price range for the whole plan that we created.
3.) Describe how you contributed to your group and team while preparing for Exhibition.
In mathematics, I contributed by teaching my group the game and practicing with them to make sure they completely understood how to play the game. In humanities, I practiced my scene with my partner multiple times to make the scene better and worked with the way we were going to move around the stage, to make it easier when performing. In multimedia, I created a 3-D rendering of our idea for the area and assisted my group mates when they needed help, (Chemistry we worked alone)
4.) What would you like to keep in mind for next year's Exhibition?
Try to get assigned with capable people. This year I was assigned with people that made it difficult for work to be done, whether it be from excessive talking or getting distracted with other things. I feel that I have a difficult time learning this, but do not pick your friends for assignments like this. Both parties will get easily distracted and get no work done, or one party will do the majority of the work and gather a strong dislike towards the other for not assisting them as they should.
5.) Which Habit(s) of Heart or Mind do you feel you used while preparing for this year's All-School Exhibition? Explain HOW you used this Habit and/ or tell a story that relates to this Habit.
For the Habits of Heart, the one that I used most in the years Exhibition would be cooperation. Cooperation played a major role in preparation and during Exhibition because we had to cooperate as a group and as a team to make sure all work that needed to be done was done, and that everything was set up and ready for when visitors came. During the exhibition we cooperated together be changing shifts and informing people from the community about what we learned about and how each assignment relates to another.
For the Habits of Mind, I believed I used two of them exceptionally well, significance and connection. I feel that significance was used in preparation to the exhibition because we were all working on assignments that were important to the theme of the exhibition. It also helped that as we worked on the assignments, there was always a constant reminder about the relevance to the assignment was for the theme. Whether it be paint for the Renaissance artists, or Tudor games with a math concept behind it. I used connection because I was able to connect each aspect that related to the theme of our Exhibition to the assignment that we did. I was able to explain in a way that people from the community were able to understand the concept with quite easily, thus showing them the 'big picture' of the whole exhibition.
